Does Obesity Signs for Premature aging??
As we all know that
obesity is a worldwide common public health problem and epidemic with its
associated chronic diseases majorly like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular
diseases, several immunological and metabolic diseases, dementia and Alzheimer’s
disease. These diseases are generally showing a negative
impact and leading the obese to stay outward of being normal. Additional to
these, recent studies are arguing that obesity parallels aging: as obesity is
considered as premature aging due to its strong association with chronic health
issues which are typically tend to appear in old age like Alzheimer’s, weaker
immune system, cardiovascular diseases and more.
The health impact of
obesity is vast and surely mirrors that of aging:
deep up to cellular and DNA levels with complete impaired genomes and
mitochondrial function, chronic inflammation along with weaker immunity. The
link between obesity and aging is cleared by the obesity effect on
mitochondrial DNA integrity and telomeres, which are strictly associated with
life expectancy and aging. Obesity also damages autophagy which results in
causing neurodegenerative diseases, hence developing the risk of dementia.
As Vascular
dementia is caused by the impairment in circulatory system,
by the damage and stiffening of blood vessels which results in cell death and
neurodegeneration linked to cardiovascular problems. However there are many
ways of obesity relating to premature aging, Alzheimer’s show the key result.
To overcome the issues of premature aging proper care and management should be
followed through diet and exercise which have a significant effect on brain
health.
